A native of Milwaukee, Dr. Deborah Bernstein joined Medical Eye
Associates in 2003. Dr. Bernstein earned degrees in both Spanish
and Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She received
her Medical Degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed
an internship and residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s
Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She is board certified by
the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American
College of Surgeons.
Dr. Bernstein has dedicated her professional career to bringing
the finest quality comprehensive eye care to her patients. She
stays abreast of the latest technologies
including small incision cataract surgery, presbyopia correcting
lens implants and laser vision correction. She is also proficient
in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and pediatric
care. A member of several prestigious professional societies,
Dr. Bernstein stays active in the medical community. She is aboard
member of the Wisconsin Academy of Ophthalmology and serves on
a panel of the American Academy of Ophthalmology to
develop a curriculum for comprehensive ophthalmologists. Dr. Bernstein
is also active in teaching medical students and residents. She
has been an invited lecturer on the topics
of cataract surgery, new intraocular lens implants, laser vision
correction and the aging eye.
Spending time with her husband and two young sons consumes most
of her free time. She also enjoys cooking, running and watching
Wisconsin sports teams.
Dr. Bernstein practices in the Waukesha and Milwaukee offices
of Medical Eye Associates and welcomes new patients of all ages.
