Dr. Murphy is a native of the Milwaukee area. He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin and returned to Milwaukee to earn his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed ophthalmology training at the Eye Institute-Medical College of Wisconsin. Following residency, Dr. Murphy received sub-specialty fellowship training in Ophthalmic Plastic, Orbital & Lacrimal surgery, and Neuro-Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Prior to joining Medical Eye Associates he was a full-time faculty member of the Eye Institute - Medical College of Wisconsin. He now practices comprehensive ophthalmology, but specializes in Ophthalmic Plastic, Orbital & Lacrimal surgery. Dr. Murphy is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

Dr. Murphy is an outdoor enthusiast, and enjoys spending time with his wife and their Bernese Mountain dogs.

Dr. Murphy sees patients of all ages, for medical and surgical eye care and specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid, eye-socket, and tear duct surgery.
