Myopia

Often referred to as nearsightedness, myopia is a refractive error wherein light rays focus in front of, rather than on the retina. The eye may be too long specific to the curvature of the cornea, or the power may be too high specific to the length of the standard eye. Close objects look clear, but distant objects appear blurry. Myopia is correctable with spectacle lenses.
