Presbyopia

As the eye ages the lens becomes less elastic and the eye becomes more rigid. Presbyopia is a refractive condition wherein the lens is less able to accommodate (change shape) to maintain a clear focus at near vision. Presbyopia generally occurs after the age of 40 years. Presbyopia is correctable with reading glasses or bifocals.
