Routine Eye Care

All providers at Medical Eye Associates, S.C. conduct routine eye examinations by appointment. Since our eyes serve as windows to our world, routine eye care is recommended from early childhood and throughout our lifetimes. Eye disease can occur at any age. Many eye diseases do not cause symptoms until the disease has done damage. This is the importance of ongoing eye exams.

Trained Ophthalmic Technicians and Assistants initiate all eye exams, performing preliminary tests, and taking personal and family health histories. Many examinations require the pupils of the eye to be dilated, thus enabling the Ophthalmologists and Optometrist to thoroughly view the interior health of your eyes, and diagnose existing and potential problems. Patients are asked to allow up to 90 minutes for a complete eye exam. Because the pupils have been dilated, patients should have sunglasses available when they leave the office. Some insurance plans cover routine eye care, but many do not. Please be prepared to pay at the time of service if you do not have coverage. Medical Eye Associates, S.C. accepts cash, checks, or Visa and Mastercard.
